Chili: Our only son William passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2014 at age 5. Survived by his parents, Al Katawazi and Heather (Hutchurson) Katawazi; grandparents, Mohammad and Sarah Katawazi; Garry and Wendy Hutchurson; great-grandparents, Abdul and Bibi Katawazi; Richard Keirsbilck; aunts and uncles Dina Katawazi, Namat Katawazi, Jeff and Lisa (Hutchurson) Lynch, Ryan and Michelle (Hutchurson) Shafer and cousins Maya, Zendage, Jack and Savannah. William graduated from preschool this year, he earned his yellow belt in karate and his Jr. Flight Wings, was learning German, ran a 1K and once hiked 5 miles in a day. He launched rockets, was an accomplished sword fighter, super hero, rocket man and monkey climber. William loved the water and cared about everyone. William’s visitation will be held Friday, June 27th from 4-7PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long pond Road, Greece Chapel. His interment will be held Saturday, June 28th, 2:30 PM at Mt. Rest Cemetery, 7577 Townline Road (S.Lake St.) in Bergen, NY. William’s Memorial Service will be celebrated at 4PM at First Presbyterian Church, 38 S. Lake Ave., Bergen, NY following the interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent ‘In memory of William Katawazi’ to CP Rochester, the preschool he attended for children with developmental disabilities, located at 3399 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623. It is the wishes of William’s parents to build in his honor an adapative zipline for kids who otherwise would not be able to fly. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear,
just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
With thoughts of peace and courage for you….
If tears could build a stairway And memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven And bring your son home again.
Dear Al and Heather, receive my deepest condolences for the unexpected loss of your son. The Lord will protect his soul.

Dear Wendy, Garry, Heather, Al and your families,
No words can express the sadness and heartache we are all feeling for you. Know that you are all in my prayers and I pray that the lord keeps you wrapped tightly in his arms in the days ahead. May your Angel always fly, Cathy Slocum.
Heather & Al, what a beautiful and playful sentiment you have written for your sweet son’s remembrance. And your intention for the memorial contributions is a perfect way to remember such an adventurous young man. A zipline… the kids will adore that special gift!
Know that we are praying for y’all & holding you close to our hearts here in western PA… & will continue to do so.
Take tender care,

To William and his whole family,
What an amazing little guy, to accomplish so much in such a short time. Our hearts ache for you, and we pray that the peace of knowing how much William loved you will eventually heal the hurt and pain you are enduring now. Your love for him radiates in his smile, his laughter and all the things he did while here with us. I never met William, but I am honored to know his mother, and I am sure I would have been honored and thrilled to have met William as well. All our thoughts and prayers- The Estridge Family Richard, Ann Marie and girls

I am so sorry for your loss and hope prayers and the love of friends and family will help get you through this difficult time. My sincerest condolences to the whole family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express the sadness in my heart, so I cannot imagine the pain you are experiencing. As your son now flies high with the angels, always know that he is with you. He is the sunshine in your morning, the twinkle in the stars at night. He is the glisten of frost on your window pane in wintertime, the soft breeze that blows gently on your skin. He is the raindrops dancing in the storm, and the whisper you hear before you fall asleep every night. May your days get gentler as time goes by. May your memories of your sweet boy forever be held with smiles.
Love and prayers to you and your family,
Crystal
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I read of the loss of your dear loved one, and would like to extend my sincere condolences. Death is an enemy that Our Creator never intended for us to ever have to deal with-even as the Bible says. Please, take comfort in knowing that soon, Our Creator, has promised to remove all causes of suffering, pain, sorrow, and even death forever! (Isaiah 25:8) The wonderful future resurrection hope is the promise found at John 5:25-29. May I assure you, I am not trying to give or change your religion. The pain of loss is felt, regardless of religion. May you be strengthened and comforted by these promises as you gain inner strength to cope with the difficult days ahead (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).
Dearest Heather, just learned of your darling son’s recent death. Your
obituary showed what a great mother you were to little William…your
lives are entwined as one .My deepest condolences to you and Al and
both of your extended families.
Love, Carolyn Katz
