William Lewis Raymond died peacefully, Monday November 5, 2012 after an extended illness. He was 91. The son of Saida and Harlow Raymond, Bill, as he was called, grew up in Webster, New York, served his country in the Coast Guard and retired from Kodak after 35 years. Bill volunteered in numerous organizations including Greece Volunteer Ambulance, House of Mercy and FISH (Friends in Service Here) . He was a founding member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. Those who were lucky enough to know Bill – and he considered everyone a friend – knew a man who loved his family, friends and his faithful companion Korki. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Betty Mason Raymond, his children Marybeth Raymond, of New York City, Debra Ann Lennon, of Chatham, NY, Pamela Jean Sampson, of Phoenix, AZ, William Scott Raymond, of Sunrise, FL, Jan Marie Boulay, of Rochester, NY, Timothy John Raymond, of Rochester, NY and Phillip Bernard Raymond, of Windham NH. He leaves his adored grandchildren: Rachael Jones, Will Raymond, Dawn Raymond, Ashleigh Raymond, Tia Sinsabaugh, Ivy Weinglass, Dustin Raymond, Harrison Boulay, Samantha Boulay, Annabeth Lennon, Savannah Raymond, Joshua Lennon, AJ Boulay, Lorilei Raymond, Alex Raymond and Eliza Raymond. Great grandchildren are Taelyn Jones, Hailey Raymond, Brooke Raymond, Sloane Jones, and Rohan Sinsabaugh. Friends may call Friday (Nov 9th) 4-7 PM at Vay, Schleich & Meeson. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 AM at St Charles Borromeo Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to House of Mercy or a charity of your choice in his memory. Bill’s active life, kindness and generosity have enriched the lives of all who knew him. We will all miss his warm smile, his wit, his ease of friendship, and his endless ability to love.

My sympathy to the entire Family in this time of loss. I got to know Bill when I was plowing his driveway, seeing him in the window waving me in for a cup of coffee. No matter how late I was running, I would usually stop in and shoot the breeze with him and or Betty. We shared laughs every time. I looked forward to seeing them every time. I am grateful to have gotten to know them. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I cherished and am thankful for my time with Bill, our talks of family, football and music were always enjoyable and i felt he saw me as a confidant of sorts. Though he had so many people already in his life to share his love with he still found a little left over for me. RIP Bill thank you for raising such an amazing family and touching the lives of so many.
