William (Billy) and I were very good friends in our growing-up years when his family lived on Goodwill St. I knew his parents and his brother and sister. We attended Sacred Heart School, Aquinas Institute and St. John Fisher College together. We hung out regularly, played touch football with some other guys, rode our bikes, played softball in the KPAA, and bowled together. Bill and I shared the driving when we went to college. I even got to ride in the back seat when he took his NY State driving test. I was his brother Gary’s sponsor when he received the sacrament of Confirmation. Also, his mother took care of my nephew, Alan, while my sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Rabideau, worked at Kodak Park. May the soul of William Gardner rest in peace. I have many fond memories of him.
