I was fortunate to be able to work with Werner on the Swain Ski Patrol for most of his time there. He was truly dedicated to the patrol and always willing to share his training with others. He instilled that dedication into his children and grandchildren that have made Swain Ski Patrol a true family patrol. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
    Sincerely,
    David Sliker

    Joan and family,
The Schmidtmannn’s were a vital force of the Swain Ski Patrol. It was an honor to have been involved in first aid training with Werner and Joan. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Hugs to all.

Werner was the one who certified me for Advanced First Aid, and a Red Cross CPR Instructor. Because of him I was able to teach many CPR classes to the Ski Patrol and others through the years. God bless Werner and the family.
