Werner August Albrecht
Rochester: Werner was born on June 4, 1935 in Shwabisch Hall, Germany to Reverend August Albrecht and Irene Albrecht. He passed away peacefully on August 15, 2022. He was preceded by his brother, Dr. Gerhard Albrecht (Dagmar). He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; brother, Dr. Klaus Albrecht (Marianne) of Warburg, Germany; son, Christopher (Jennifer) Albrecht of Brockport; grandchildren, Autumn Grudev (Nick), Cory Albrecht, and Aaron Albrecht; many nieces and nephews. He immigrated to America in 1959. Locally, he was the General Manager of the Country Club of Rochester (1969-90) and the Rochester Yacht Club. Werner was a man of extraordinary humor, generosity, kindness, loved to recall stories, and always put others before himself.
Friends may call Friday (August 19th) from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His burial and reflection will be on Saturday (August 20th) at 10:00 AM at Boughton Hil Cemetery in Victor followed by a gathering at Christopher and Jennifer’s home in Brockport at 2:00 PM for a celebration of Werner’s amazing life. We met Werner about three years ago when he came to Kansas to witness Christopher’s induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. Werner was an amazing man and a delight to be with! He was so kind as to send us a lovely gift when he went back to Rochester which highlights his thoughtfulness and selflessness. How fortunate we were to have met him and to share some time with him. Jim will always remember being called his "little brother". Heavenly Joy, Werner!

By accident I came across Werner’s notice. During my high school years, I worked for Werner at CCR as a busboy from 1976-1980. He was always admirable and well liked. Sorry to hear the news but I will always remember how he treated all us working at CCR way back then.

Werner and I worked together at GCSD .He showed me what a TRUE GENTLEMEN is, and what we all should be. I miss him and the breakfasts we shared at the Parkway Diner. We enjoyed the times when he came to our homes and shared his wonderful, enlightening stories of his life ,both in Germany during the war and here in Rochester. My family grew to love him and looked forward to those times and regret not to have more of them. We will remember his kindness and gentle ways. We offer our sincere condolences to his wife Carolyn and his son Christopher and his family. It has been an honor to have know you and look forward to seeing you again.
I was lucky enough to meet Warner when his son, Christopher, was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. Warner was an engaging and entertaining person with the stories of his life. Warner will be missed and I only hope he realized the impact he had on the lives of others including me. I will not be able to make it to his service but know that Warner and his family will be in our thoughts.

So sorry for your loss. Praying you’ll find peace. Werner and Carolyn we’re neighbors of my parents for more than 35 years. We enjoyed visiting with them whenever we visited. Werner was my go to for a wine opener because my parents never had one. Truth be known it was my excuse to stop in for a visit.

Carolyn, my deepest heartfelt condolences. Werner was a real gentleman, his smile and laughter were infectious. I will always have the memory of Werner yelling at me at the age of 12 at CCR but he apologized and we were friends ever since. By God’s Grace I became friends with Carolyn over the last 20 + years through business. Werner will be missed but my memory of him will live forever. I thank God for Werner and Carolyn. Always looked forward to waiting on Werner at Wegmans Latta Rd service desk. Such a kind gentlemen enjoyed his stories always brightened our day! Deepest sympathies to his family! We will miss Werner RIP
Werner worked in Greece Transportation, as a Bus Attendant, from 2012-2020. He had an infectious smile and was a delight to work with. He will be sorely missed.
