Blind, Virginia M. (Downs) Rochester: October 28, 2015, at age 98. Predeceased by her husband of 78 years, Raymond G. Blind; daughter of the late Thomas and Alma Downs; Survived by her four children, Sr. Yvonne Blind, SSJ, David (Chong) Blind, Peter (Catherine) Blind and Daniel Blind; five grandchildren, Kim (Carl) Gurnett, Michelle (Michael) Faulkner, Kathleen (Chris), Thomas (Shalla) and Erin Blind; eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Born September 3, 1917, Virginia was a graduate of St. Augustine School, Nazareth Academy and Rochester Business Institute. Retired after 17 years with the Greece Central School District, she was also employed by Postal Telegraph in the 1930’s. A 72 year resident of Greece and member of St. Charles Borromeo Church for over 7 decades, she enjoyed world travel as well as putting her creative art, culinary and business skills to generous use over the years, whether for family, church, work, scouting or charities. Family and Friends are invited to call Friday, October 30th, 2015, 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Avenue, Greece. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 150 French Road, Rochester, New York 14618. My condolences on the loss of Virginia. I remember her and your Dad, Ray, well. My parents told stories of their younger years and double dates with your parents !
