Ginny passed away peacefully at home at the age of 96. She was devoted to her family, always supporting and cheering on any endeavors and adventures her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were involved in.
Ginny’s kindness, love, and devotion was not limited to her family. For many years, she was a girl scout leader, taking the girls on outings and adventures, showing them independence through her own example, and reinforcing that girls can do anything. As a Teacher Aid for the Greece Central school district, Ginny taught kids who struggled the most with patience and enthusiasm. After retiring from teaching, she became a neighborhood watch leader, helping to keep her neighborhood safe and connected. Ginny was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone she knew.
Ginny loved being with her friends, playing games and going out to lunch with “the girls”. Over the years she was a fierce Pinochle and card player, was an avid bowler, and she and her husband enjoyed dancing, specifically square dancing. Her favorite game to play recently was Mexican trains dominoes with her “gang”. She also loved and cherished her home gardens, tending to them well into her early 90s. Throughout the years her home was a haven for beloved cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Aleia) O’Reilly (Robert McCarter ), Her son Thomas K. O’Reilly (Laurie), Her grandchildren Lindsay Maier (Adam) and Brittany O’Reilly (Daniel Kolinski), her great grandchildren Ava and Cara Kolinski, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas C. O’Reilly.
Friends may call Sunday (August 9th) 1-4 PM at Vay Schleich & Messon, 1075 Long Pond Road. A brief time for sharing will take place at 3:30 PM. Private family service will be held at White Haven Memorial Park.

Mrs. O’Reilly was surely a force to recon with. She was a strong lady who fiercely loved her family. She is with her beloved husband Tom now and she is at peace. God bless you all.

When my family moved into the neighborhood over 25 years ago, Ginny introduced herself and said, “I’ll be watching you.” And she did just that as the leader of the neighborhood watch group. I loved having her watching over my children making sure they were safe as they got off the school bus. Ginny was more than a neighbor, she was a sweet friend! I will miss our porch chats, our Mexican Train games, and the delicious cookies that she shared with us. I have no doubt that she is with her beloved husband in Heaven and that brings me peace.

Aleia and Robert, our thoughts are with you as you grieve your mother and mother-in-law. We are here for you as you celebrate and honor Ginny’s life.
Ginny was a neighbor and very special friend. Her mind and memory were incredible. She was so independent and caring. Nothing was more important to Ginny than her family and friends. Thank you Ginny for adding very special memories to my life.
