Very sad to hear of Valerie’s passing. It was an honor to work for her at Mercury, she was from a generation of business owners who truly cared for their employees. When Val found out my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she called me to her office. She wanted to know what had happened and said if I needed to deal with family problems to take off, caring for my wife and daughter was more important than anything going on at Mercury. They would find ways to cover me if I was absent. It was more than business with Val, it was also personal. She was an exceptional lady and will be greatly missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Valerie’s passing. She hired me back in 1995, when female press operators were kind of rare. As I was introduced to press operators Christine and Virginia, I realized Mercury maybe a very special organization. Valerie was so kind and generous to her employees, that many stayed for decades. She made us feel like a family, to her, and to each other. I send my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends, she was a wonderful beautiful person, that I feel blessed to have known.
