Thomas A. Monk Friday, February 3, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his wife and two daughters at age 75 went home to be with his parents, Alfred and Jean Monk. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia A. Monk; loving daughters, Leslie (Aaron) Allen and Jessica (Joe) DiBattisto; grandchildren, Carson, Peyton, Madison and Mason; sister, Bonnie Jansen; brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) Mortillaro; dear friend, Scott Helfer; nieces, nephews. Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served our Country during the Vietnam War where he was awarded three purple hearts for his valor. He loved his dog, Gizmo; enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, especially to Aruba. He loved sunshine, good music and ice cold beer. He was a devoted husband, father and papa and will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to U of R Hospice Care, Melissa, Josh, Joann and Elaine; his private nurses, Laurie and Jess; Michelle Lezo and team of caregivers for the compassion and care given to Tom. Tom’s Military Honor’s service will be celebrated Thursday, February 9th 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) in his memory. Jess, Les and Mama Monk- Thinking of you all during this time. He was definitely one of a kind and always made me laugh growing up. I’m so glad you could be with him and showered him with so much love until the end. Xoxo love and prayers.
