A band of sisters we are calledand rightly so, for ours is a kinship of the spirit and the ties of the spirit which bind us are as enduring as the ties of blood or birth. This spiritthis Esprit De Corpsis the common heritage of all who, like us, have been Marines. It is epitomized in our proud motto: Once a Marine, Always a Marine. It recognizes no barriers of time or placeor rank or station. It lives in the loving memory of those who, having served beside us, have finished their course and answered their final muster.
Throughout our lives we hold them in our hearts and prayers.
This, then, is that pause of loving remembrance which strengthens and renews the ties that bind us, one to another, as friends and as Marines. Thelma, a sister member of the Women Marines Association has been called by our Divine Commandant to join Him in Eternal Life. We are her sister Marines. We are here to honor her memory and to pray for the repose of her soul.
May her soul and all the souls of our departed sister
Marines rest in peace.
RIP in sister Marine.
‘If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven’s scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.’ (3rd stanza of the Marines Hymn. Sincere condolences to the family from Thelma’s sister Marines in the Women Marines Association. Take comfort in knowing your beloved Marines has left this life to take up her new post in Heaven’s Detachment. Mary Broussard, WMA National Chaplain
Hi my name is Bill Schmidt and I would like to give condolences to the family of Thelma! I am currently do research on Amercian Leigon Post 1183. In the 1940,s there was an Honor Roll Monument that was put up in the 10th Ward of Rochester N.Y. I almost bet Thelma attended this ceremony and dedication of this monument. i was wondering if a family member might give me a call so i can talk more about this event that took place in 1946.
Thanks Bill Schmidt 585-370-0268
