Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Susan A. Rittler (Hannon) Susan Ann Rittler, age 71, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Sue was born at St Marys in Rochester NY to John and Grace (Eastman) Hannon. She earned her Masters in Elementary Education degree from SUNY Brockport in July 1974 and obtained both her NYS and Arizona State teacher certification. Along with her former husband Joseph G. Rittler, she raised her 5 children and cared for several foster children through the Monroe County Foster Care system for many years. After raising her children, she craved adventure out west in Arizona where she resided for twenty years with her partner Louis Struble. In recent years she decided to return to New York to spend time with her 5 children, Lisa Guarino (Terry), Laura Slusarenco, Christine DiVincenzo, Susan Richmond (Jeffrey), Joseph Rittler (Allison) and 10 grandchildren, Joseph and Trevor Slusarenco, Marissa DiVincenzo, Christopher Hills, Alex and Ethan Richmond, Sophia Guarino, Elise, Johanna and Zachary Rittler. Susan also enjoyed spending time with the “ladies” from the Spencerport Senior center where she frequented as well as with her close cousin Terri Weed. Socializing and playing cards were just a couple of her favorite activities. In addition, Sue also enjoyed movie night and long conversations with her sister Patricia Irizarry. Friends and family are welcome to join in Susan’s celebration of life on Saturday June 29th from 10:00am-1:00pm at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 38 East Avenue, Hilton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Palliative Care Program, University of Rochester Medical Center in her memory.
I’m going to miss our game days and conversations (and lots of laughs!!)
Our condolences to the family â¤ï¸
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with your entire family at this difficult time. Sue was part of our family for more than 20 years, and with her move back to Hilton, NY from Arizona we were able to spend more time with her. It was clear that she loved her children and their extended families with all of her heart. But she also touched many lives at the Spencerport Senior Center, including our 96 yr old mother, Ruth Popowich, by providing transportation to play cards at the Center. Sue had a HUGE heart and we will miss her. May she Rest In Peace.
We will all be united one day. That’s all I can think of saying.
I love the way you walk, I love the way you talk, Suzy Q

Sue brought such joy and a kind spirit to our ladies card group and Ogden Senior Center. We feel blessed to have called her a friend. She will be fondly remembered but greatly missed.
Joe and family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy.
Hello, and sending you greetings from my friendship with Susan many years ago. We lived down the street from one another on English Road, sat together on Bus 14 on the way to and from school beginning in kindergarten. I remember Susan and that life we shared with great fondness and care for her. God’s blessing is surely upon her, and may your lives continue to be blessed as well.
