Hey dad!!! This had been so hard it’s unreal that this is even happening. Last night I could feel you out on the boat with us. Made me feel like its going to be ok for the first time. The kids and all of us sent you sky lanterns and birthday wishes up to heaven last night. I’m sure you loved it! I just miss and love you so much! My girl is playing right now… And I’m going to listen to Elvis Costellos Alison every time I miss you… You loved to blast that one 🙂
Thank you so showing me how to love and forgive and strength and just how to live life!!! Don’t sweat the little stuff and really the big stuff either. You knew everything would work out. You are always in my heart!!! Send my babies big blue eyes like yours! I love your eyes and smile and laugh. My favorite times were out on the motorcycle going to baseball! Best Pitcher of all time!

Lots of hugs and kisses to you my Daddy!!! Love you so much
    <3 Alison

    Baby brother,

I miss you baby brother. My heart is broken. You have a special tender place in my heart. We didn’t have nearly enough time together but I value the time we did have, including our heart connection while you were in the hospital.

Alison and Cassie have been amazing. They love you so much and you loved them. They are a living tribute to you Steve.

Steve, you were the best friend a girl could have on earth. You were very loyal and made our days bright when you showed up to visit. I loved having you in our lives. It would take a very long time to tell all of our stories, lol. They were all good ones. We celebrated your Birthday last night at Sundowners with some old friends and everyone had their own funny stories to tell. You are sadly missed here. I know you are in a great place and with your loved ones. We will always love you <3

Sent with love from your friends,

    Devini McBride

    Scott Simpson &

    Norman Duger

God speed my friend, watch out for us all!

    Brother Steve,

So many great memories, experiences and fantastic voyages. We shared everything throughout our lives. I always looked to you for fun and adventure. You filled my life with a happiness that I could have never dreamed of experiencing, without you by my side. Not only did you always have my back, your confidence also showed me the way—- on so many occasions. You once told me that your fondest memories of us, friends and family, were when we were out on our boat. We’ll meet again and continue our voyage- That I know!

You shared your beautiful family with me, choosing me to be the godfather of your children. When Sue and I came to Rochester for a visit, we always rushed over to see you Carol and the kids. Once we were sitting in your house, we never wanted to leave. Carols side of the family also became ours, sharing many special events together. I’ll never stop watching over them, they are all a part of me.

Several reasons leave us so far apart at this time, Sue and my hearts are broken with your passing. We wish we could be with both of our family’s at this time, unfortunately the travel journey doesn’t work out for us now. Brother we feel your presence with Sue and I on the west coast, we will think of you each day. You were so close to us and our children.

I’ll always do my best to live the values you taught me, love of family, protecting friends, sharing everything and helping others. I will always remember you for your unwavering courage in everything you encountered.
    Love Dave and Sue

I remember as kids when I went to Unce George’s we would jump into the pool to cool off or play downstairs. Boy what mischief we got onto. Now you can be a kid again. Your smile and the humor you brought then is now up in heaven for all to share. You will be missed.

    Alison, Casey and Aunt Carol,

I just want to apologize to you for not being there this
weekend. Your dad was always my favorite uncle because he was such a charismatic
and loving guy. He lived with us for a short time in the house where I was born
in Charlotte. To a little kid, he appeared larger than life with his big
physique, mustache and motorcycle, so cool. In high school, I worked for him
during the summer. He was a role model for me and showed me how to work hard,
party hard in those days. He always had a positive attitude, even first thing
in the morning. As I got older I saw Uncle Steve face various setbacks and
adversity, yet he was never defeated. He stayed young at heart up to the end and
I’m lucky to have spent time with him again at grandpa’s birthday party. It’s
hard to see a good man like your father go, but he touched every life he came
in contact with and he will be with us always. Sometimes the brightest candles
    burn out fastest.

    cousin/nephew Mike

We are so sad to here of Steven passing. He had a big heart that was only surpassed by his even bigger smile. Even though I was the ‘baby’ of the cousins Steven always made a point to include me in what ever was going on when we got together. You will defiantly be missed but you will always be with those of us that knew you (and there are MANY of us). Sorry we are not able to be there, but we send all of our love and prayers.

One month past your birthday today. I was just thinking about how on June 25th I called you in a panic thinking I forgot to tell you happy birthday and you didn’t answer so I left a message. Than after I had some coffee I realized it was June and not July and called you back and you answered and I busted myself in because you hadn’t even listened to your voicemail yet. We had a good laugh over that. I wish I could tell you Happy Birthday today a month after your birthday just to repeat that one more time. I miss you dad’ a lot, my heart is so broken. I really need you right now to make me laugh cause life is so shitty. Please send strength to Mom Im so scared of whats going to happen. I love you dad and your presence is missed every hour every day. Every night I cant sleep I go out and talk to the moon thinking your listening, I hope that you are.
