Greece: November 19, 2012 at age 42. Shawn is predeceased by his step-daughter, Jenna Lang. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Fadden; step-son, Chris Lang, father, David (Darline) Fadden; mother, Donna Fadden, brother and sisters, Michele, Michael and Tina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and countless friends. Shawn graduated R.I.T. and was employed with Monroe County Water Authority. Many thanks to the staff at Interlakes Oncology and Unity Hospital. His Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, November 24th, 11 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1301 Vintage Lane and will be followed by a luncheon. Memorial donations may be made to CURE Childhood Cancer (CureKidsCancer.com).

You were taken too soon, but God always does take the best first and you were definetely the one. even though i never met shawn i heard so much about him through his awesome wife darlene. he had an amazing sense of humor and wonderful life with darlene. they were just perfect for each other. i’m so glad they found each other and did get to spend time with each other. some people don’t get to do that. he was always so upbeat and totally in love with dar. he will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Shawn. I grew up with him as my father and mother were friends with Donna and David at the time. I still remember having fun times and playing together. Life sometimes drifts people apart but it does not change the positive impact he made on my life as a kid. God Bless his parents David and Donna, Michelle, Mike and Tina, his family and friends. May he rest in peace! AMEN!
I didn’t know Shawn but I did have the opportunity to meet him outside of Wegman’s one day when he was picking Darlene up. Cooper was sitting on his lap. I will always remember that warm and welcoming smile.
I know that I had Shawn as a student while he was at RIT. I wish I could remember which year he graduated…but I was shocked and saddened to see his smiling face in the paper today. As others have mentioned, Shawn was always smiling, always positive and I remember this fondly. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

I never met him sadly, But I always remember Darlene talking about him in such a joyous happy way. I am sure he is with god and is finally at peace. Darlene my thoughts are prayers are with you and your family in this time of need.
In the short time I got to know Shawn, I knew right away he was a very warm, friendly, loving individual. My prayers will be with his wife and his family.

My heart warming condolences go out to the entire Fadden family. Shawn has always been one of the happiest, loving, respectful gentleman and husband I’ve ever had the pleasure of being friends with over the passed twenty years. Over 30 yrs ago, our family first met Shawn. The kid with the beautiful smile, laughter in his voice, mischief in his eyes and an uncanny way of making everyone feel as though they knew him forever. And, his wife, Darlene is the same way. Shawn has left a beautiful wife, a faithful companion in Cooper, family and so, so many friends which is a tribute to the kind of man he was. Rest in peace. Shawn was an amazing individual, I didn’t know him very long, but the few times I saw him I knew he was special. He will always have a special place in my heart..
Shawn was an amazing man with a tremendous love for his wife, Cooper, his family and friends. He was a true gentleman. I can’t remember one time I wasn’t greeted with a smile, and hug. He was truly selfless, even when in pain, showed care and concern not for himself, but for the ones around him. He will always be in my heart and in never forgotten, loved by everyone’s lives he entered.
To Darlene, family and friends; I never had the chance to meet Shawn but through Darlene, I felt like I knew him a little bit. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
It is wonderful to have a window on Shawn’s adult like through reading comments. I knew him in childhood and through high school – as a neighbor and friend of Tina’s. I recall him as a very positve, fun-loving guy and my best wishes for healing and carrying on great memories go out to all of those he leaves behind.

I know this is super super late. I had Shawn as a student first in the summer of 1999? at RIT and then in several classes after that. I still can’t believe that he is gone. He had such a great smile and positive attitude. He worked very hard and always did a good job on his projects. Some things are so hard to understand. I have lost a handful of students through the years and this is always a very difficult situation to come to terms with.
