Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute

Scott Howard Calberg April 12, 2020 Scott was born on June 20, 1972. He grew up in Hilton, NY in a small neighborhood where all the kids grew up together like one family. He attended Hilton High School, and was an accomplished athlete; playing football, baseball, basketball, and tennis.  He attended St. Bonaventure University and Nazareth College, graduating with a Masters in special education. He worked in the Hilton school district for over 20 years teaching special needs students; first at Hilton Elementary, then Quest Elementary. He was loved by his students, fellow teachers, and colleagues. Many of them have described Scott as kind, dedicated, funny, compassionate, and calm, with a wonderful smile and giggle. He amazed people with his ability to always find the right song lyric or movie quote to match every situation. He connected with so many children over the years, especially those who needed a kind heart the most. He loved his daughters Amanda and Allison beyond compare. Everything he did, he did for his daughters.  He was so very proud of them, and spoke often to his colleagues about them and all their activities. He loved going to concerts with his sister Lisa, and they had an incredible adventure to NYC last year to see Billy Joel and the US Open. His parents were so proud of all he accomplished and loved him immensely. His friends all loved him like a brother. It is said that we cannot measure a person’s life by the number of years they have lived, but instead by the number of lives they have touched. By that measure, Scott had an incredibly rich and fulfilling life. He is survived by his parents Willis and Linda; his daughters Amanda and Allison and their mother Ginger; his sister Lisa, brother-in-law Frank, and niece Natalie; his aunts Kay, June, Brenda, and Sue; his uncle Kim; and his cousins Stephen, Cheryl, Barthe. Leticia, Chrissy, Kerry, Lindsay, Ryan, Sarah, and Jamie. Scott will be missed by so many, so very very much. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Amanda and Allison’s college funds may be made to Linda Calberg, c/o Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral and Cremation Chapels ,1075 Long Pond Road Rochester, NY 14626 in his memory.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

Scott Calberg was still in college when he started working my son. He was so compassionate and patient. He had him for 3 years, and he kept track of him after that. This is heart breaking to hear.
