Greece: Friday, August 24, 2007. He is survived by his son, Paul D. Spotts; sister, Suzie (David L.) Foster; brother, L. Denton Spotts; grandchildren, Julie & Jenny. Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Service MONDAY, 7:00 PM at Bethany Presbyterian Church (3000 Dewey Ave. Rochester, NY 14616). Interment will be held in Jeromesville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church.

All those years together at Greece Athena offer so many memories. We were there at the beginning – when it was the ‘glory of Greece.’ Rest in peace, dear friend. You are not gone from us – only changed. Rest in the arms of Jesus.

Dear dear Sandy, Your time was much too short. I will always remember you and our Class of 1963 with you as our counselor. The Class Play, the trip to New York City…you coming back for a Black River Class reunion many, many years ago…and our renewing correspondence by email during the past five years. I am very sorry for your loss. I had know Sandy for over 20 years, helping him and preparing his personal income tax return. He was very much a distinguished character and very much liked. I definitly will miss him. My sincere sympathy and prayers for Sandy and family. Karen Erb
I have many memories of Sandy (Mr. Spotts) from the Olympia High School drama club. Some of my fondest memories of high school were from the musicals. It was the kind, caring adults who guided us who made those times really great. Thanks, Mr. Spotts, for helping us be our best on stage.

My sympathy to the family of Sandy Spotts. I taught with Sandy at both Athena and Olympia. I always enjoyed his wit and humor, and his theatrical productions.

We shared many wonderful days, many students, and many activities during the years that Greece respected the art of teaching. Sandy was one of the special teachers whose heart and ethics were gifts to kids and his colleagues. I will miss his emails, his amazement at the world as it is, and sharing memories of what we had experienced… Sandy’s immortality is lodged in the hearts of all those students who were cherished by Sandy.
