Dear Lou and family, our hearts are very saddened at the news of Sam’s death. We are with you in thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all, we will miss Sam very much…Patty and all of the Thurs. staff of St. Peter’s.
My prayers are with all of you. I first met Sam LoMaglio when we both worked at Sibley’s. I left in the early 1980’s, and did not see Sam again until 1996 or so. In the intervening years, I had gone to Normandy, and had made contact with the 29th Infantry Division Association. My uncle Ben had been killed in action in 1944 and was a member. At a reunion, I looked across and saw Sam LoMaglio, I was so amazed. We had a wonderful conversation and kept in touch for several years. Sam was one of the finest people I have ever met. At Sibley’s, he stood out as a gentleman, someone to be counted on and trusted.
Sam was a man you had to admire. He was a kind, genuine and generous man. What I admired about him most was his love and dedication to his family. He was truly a gift from heaven to all the lives he touched. I had not seen Sam for several years except for a chance encounter at Parkridge Hospital recently, and I will be forever grateful for the few minutes we spent together. I pray that Sam’s family is comforted by fond memories of him and the knowledge that he is with God, free fom pain and with those who have passed before him. I had the privledge of knowing Sam and being blessed by his friendship will remember him fondly. May God be with you all in this time mourning . I am sorry for your loss. ~Carla
Sam LoMaglio was such a fine gentleman and a true patriot. We saw Sam many times at various LoMaglio gatherings, and he always capped off a discussion with wise words. He was so incredibly intelligent and will also be so missed. Love Mary, Marguerite, Beth & Cliff
