Herring, Ruth M. (Mateer) Greece: Friday, July 22, 2016 at age 99. Predeceased by her husband, George J.; son, George W.; brothers, William & Joseph; sisters, Lola Gardner & Barbara Cody. Survived by her daughters, Helen L. McCarthy & Kathleen R. (Roger) Hurysz; brother, Thomas; sister, Doris (Duane) Mault; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to thank St. Anns Community for all the love and care given to Ruth. She will be missed by all who knew her. Ruth’s visitation will be held Monday, July 25th 3-6 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd., Greece Chapel where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rochester General Hospial 1425 Portland Avenue Rochester, NY 14621 or St. Judes Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis TN 38105 in her memory. We always looked forward to visiting with Ruth each summer when we visit from
Houston. She was a lady who personified greatness.
