Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Tiernan; infant son, James. She is survived by her son, Richard (MaryLou) Tiernan; daughter, Kathleen (Richard) McGovern; grandchildren, Sean (Jodi) McGovern, Stephanie (Christopher) Scott, Colleen (Brian) Zimmer, Kathryn (Ben) Meinhold, Michael (fiancé Marilyn) McGovern, Thomas Tiernan; 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Jerome (Arlene) Gillette; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, 4-7 at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 9:30 at Holy Cross Church, 4488 Lake Avenue Rochester, NY. Interment will follow Mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, 1200 Scottsville Road # A, Rochester, NY 14624 or School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, NY 14623 in Rose’s memory.

Dear Kathy, I am so sorry for your loss, Your parents and my parents had wonderful times together. They were such good friends. I remember taking Your Mom & My Mom to the masses at Holy Sepulchre, for loved ones, who had passed away, and then we would go out to breakfast. your Mom really enjoyed it. Your mom was such a good person, I was glad that, I was able to do that, for the both of them. You are all in our thoughts and Prayers. Love, Judy

Kathy, Rick and families, In time your pain will be overcome by the fond memories you have of Rose. She was a good person and I remember her laugh most of all. She loved to hear my animal stories and often told me that I should write a book. God Bless. Elaine

Rick & Kathy, I was saddened to hear your mom just passed away yesterday, she was a very special lady putting up with all us kids growing up in the old neighborhood.
