Aunt Rose we will miss you, especially our visits when I brought you communion. Jack & Jim take comfort in the words of Helen Steiner Rice. This poem is one of my favorites and still gets me through when I’m missing my mother. When I Must Leave You By Helen Steiner Rice When I must leave you for a little while-Please do not grieve and shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile; And for my sake and in my name Live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near And never, never be afraid to die For I am waiting for you in the sky!

I did not know Rose, but I knew Jim, her husband, who excavated my father’s marina in Cape Vincent. What I remember, though, was when I swam from Cape Vincent to Alex Bay, back in 1965, Jim put the biggest bill in the pot as a gift to honor me. I never forgot.

My deepest sympathy to Jack, Cybele, Gabe, Jim, Jean, Anna, Lena, and Kelly. Rose was such a wonderful person. She always made me feel like part of the family. I will never forget the times spend up at the Islands, the delicious Christmas eve dinners, and her beautiful smile. The Benvenuto’s will have a special place in my heart. I love you all!! My sincere condoleces go out to the whole family, especially to Mary & Suzanne. If it were’nt for them, I would never have met Rose, or to see what true family value’s meant to her. God Bless!!!
