Rochester: Monday, May 23, 2011. Found eternal peace surrounded by family. Predeceased by her parents Chris and Mary Grace Carrubba; brothers, Orazio, Sam Carrubba. Survived by her beloved husband of 59 years John C. DeFazio; devoted sons Sam (Barb), Chris (Vicki); cherished grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Stephanie; loving sisters, Mary Mastrogiovanni, Angela Albanese, Grace Suozzi; loving brothers, Joe, Tony Carrubba; several nieces and nephews. Rose loved to cook and entertain, had a strong faith and was devoted to her family; she retired from Taylor Instrument Corp. The family would like to thank the staff at Monroe Community Hospital, Highland Hospital and Visiting Nurse Hospice Care, also the Goddard School, Carestream and the Wegmans family for their kindness and support. Special thanks to Father Bonsignore, Sister Alice and Sister Judy for all the spiritual guidance. Friends may call Friday 4-8 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road Greece Chapel. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Theodores Church, 168 Spencerport. Road. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to Monroe Community Hospital 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
