Ronald T. Hicks

Ronald Thomas Hicks of Rochester, New York, long time member of the Megiddo Church, Rochester Congregation, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital.  

Born March 23, 1943 in Ogdensburg, New York, he was the son of James W. Hicks (deceased in 2008), and his wife Beatrice Denny (deceased in 2010), both of Waddington, New York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Joseph in infancy, Wayne J. Hicks in 2006 and Kathleen M. Shultz in 2018. As far as can be known at present, he is survived by siblings James A. and wife Maryann of Bergen, N.Y., William C, and wife Dawn, Lawrence D., Arthur J. and wife Lorraine, all of Waddington, Beatrice and husband Don Champagne of Waddington, N., and Linda and husband William Boak of Waddington.

Ronald served honorably in the United States Navy on active duty between March 1960 and June 1963. After being discharged he worked a number of years for Eastman Kodak Company, then as a United States postal carrier until he retired. A member of the Megiddo Church from 1966, he was an avid Bible Scholar and took active part in the work of the church. He carried heavy parts in Bible dramas and took an active role in the church’s ministry of music, in which he played the tuba and sang in the church choir.

Ronald had strong convictions of Bible teaching and was always ready to present them to any who inquired. He had a prodigious memory bank of Scripture at almost instant command, loved reading his Bible, and lived in tense anticipation of the return of Jesus Christ.
