Joan, Shelly, Mike and Family… Carolyn and I were deeply saddened to read of Bob’s passing! We fondly remember all the fun we had at Centerwood Drive and Foster Road. We enjoyed the times we dined together at 14 Foster Road and can remember Bob’s words as though it was yesterday, ‘Liz, you make the best meatloaf’ (or whatever it was that Liz had made). We have wonderful memories of the old neighborhood and the fun we all had with Chuck and Alice, Betty, the Davidsons, Pete, and the Allens–those times usually got off on the right foot with a Manhattan or two. I enjoyed the times Bob would share with me his masterful work on his model planes and his masterpiece model of the battleship USS Missuori. Carolyn remembers Bob’s comments when looking at a photo of Kevin as a baby, ‘he looks just like Khrushchev’. Bob will be long remembered by Carolyn and me as a kind, friendly and fun loving easy going gentle man. And, when all is said and done, that is something to cherish. If Deanie were still with us, rest assured that she would share also in our saddness, because she thought the world of Bob. Please accept our sympathy for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather as we say thank-you Lord for giving us Bob Mars. with sympathy, Carolyn Selbig and Gary Stein PS-for sure there will be a party this day in heaven with Roland, Liz, Deanie and all the special neighbors!
