Robert William Rideout Proud US Marine Corps Veteran, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13th at the age of 87 surrounded by love. He was born in Bucksport Maine, on April 9th, 1936. He entered the service in 1956, where he studied Atomic Biological & Chemical warfare. Robert earned the good conduct medal and the expert riflemen medal. His Marine Corp. Assignments took him to Hong Kong, Formosa, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Philippines and the Island of Borneo. After serving our Country as a Marine he left Millinocket Maine for Rochester, New York to work at Kodak and Lechase Construction as a safety engineer until he retired. His service to our country was his proudest assignment. Robert is predeceased by his first wife Gail; mother and father, Theresa and Wendell Rideout; siblings: Arnold, Marilyn and Joan, Wendell Jr. Gene and beloved brother-in-law, Ray Barfield and sister-in-law Angie Licausi; twin great granddaughters, Jaydah and Sariah Rideout He is survived by his 2nd wife Christine Powers; siblings, Carol (Mike) Beagan, Judy Barfield, Sandra Rideout, Charles Rideout; children: Len Rideout and Robert Rideout Jr; 2 bonus sons, Will Wedge and Kurt Richie; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert loved music, he had a great voice and loved to use it. His storytelling and making others laugh. Most stories involved shenanigans he partook in. He was loved by all who knew him. His final resting place will be in Millinocket Maine alongside his first wife Gail and other beloved family members He was one tough Marine until the end. At ease soldier, well done. Uncle Bob was always there…. I could count on Uncle Bob to open his home to me as a youth and adult and attend all major life events. Len, Rob and I kept him busy. Loved his singing at weddings, engaging stories and love for life. I could write so much, yet will end saying "Bob Rideout was a mans man". Uncle Bob taught us all so many life lessons. I am proud to say my family owns his parents camp he helped build 60 years ago on Ambajejus Lake in Maine.
Papa was the best papa a kid could ever ask for . I’m so blessed he was here to see me get married and know my wife and our children. Jojo and Zay miss their papa already . Going to miss you papa . Thank you for everything .

Bobby was a Marine through and through, his intense love for friends could only be matched by his love for his Country. He will always be my "Jarhead" buddy, and his infectious smile will always hold a place in my heart. R.I.P. Marine, we have it from here.
