Bob and I were childhood friends from grade school thru high school. Fortunately we were able to have coffee together within the past month. Elsie was with us as well as my wife. Bob was the best man at my wedding 59 years ago. We spent many happy times together as kids and this memory will never be forgotten.
I was privileged to have work for Bob while he was Die Group Supervisor at Kodak. For almost 5 years he was supremely a fair, kind, understanding, supportive and encouraging coach. This was especially important to me as one of only four women Toolmakers in the Tool Room. He also supported my JDRF Walk team, ‘We Can Can Diabetes,’ until his granddaughter was diagnosed. Now we are all fighting for that cure. I feel privileged to have known Bob and his memory will live forever with me.
It is so nice to have so many people remembering my grandpa. As my dad, Uncle Bob and Aunt Lori said today, he was truely a remarkable man who taught us that family is important, to have a good sense of humor and to just be a good, kind hearted person. My granda always made me feel special and kept me laughing. Creating a hot dog tree is only one of the innovative things my grandpa came up with but it is one that I share with many people. Who would have thought to tie about a hundred hot dogs to a tree when asked the very innocent question from a 5 year old ‘where do hot dogs come from?’ All of my cousins and I are so lucky to have such an amazing man as our grandpa. He will be missed greatly but his memory and legacy will live on. Thank you all for having touched his life or our family’s in some way. It is comforting to have so many wonderful people surrounding us and praying with us, in this time of sadness.
Joe and Dawn, we’re sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. We are out of town for a few weeks and can’t make services. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. God bless you all.
Joe, My thoughts are with you and your family. Bob

Mr. Steehler has left us with wonderful memories that we will carry for our life time, we will never forget…. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
To Bob Jr., Joe, Elsie and the rest of the family: I was saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. When my mom died in January, I was back in Rochester for the funeral and Steve Wallach stopped by to say hello (he also notified me of your dad’s death). We spent a good deal of time reminiscing about, among other things, the Saturday’s spent bowling and then band practice in your basement. Boy we were terrible! May you find comfort in the rest of your family and friends at this difficult time, and may your dad’s memory be a blessing for us all. Best regards, Victor
To Mrs. Steehler, Bob and Joe, Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I will never forget how you all opened your home and hearts to us during our high school years. Indeed, your friendship remains among my fondest memories of that time in my life. Robert Sr. lives on in our memories, and in our hearts. Steve Wallach
We alway’s enjoyed out times with Bob & Elsie at the various Kodak friends get to gethers. Working with Bob at Kodak was a pleasure because he alway’s had smile & a way to laugh that made you feel good. We have good memories to keep that smile on our face. We are sorry for your loss.
