Greece: Robert Chester Smith, 60, of Rochester, NY, passed away on April 20th, 2025, surrounded by loving family. A beloved husband, father, son, uncle and friend. Robert, or “Bob” will always be remembered for the love and joy he brought to those who loved him most. Robert was born on February 13, 1965, to Joanne “Corky” Singer & Jeffery Miller in Rochester, NY.  Robert proudly served in the US Army and will be remembered as a hero for doing so. Robert was married to Anne Marie Smith on August 28th, 1992, They were married for 32 years. Robert and Anne share two sons together. 

In his spare time, Robert enjoyed spending his time together with his sons, Justin and Damian. He enjoyed being on the water, and fishing. Robert loved to work on cars, and spent many years as a mechanic but enjoyed using his spare time to work on cars with his sons/friends together. He will always be remembered for his love for football, Especially the Dallas Cowboys. Robert was an avid bowler as well. Bob or Bobby will be remembered for his laughter, goofy personality, and huge heart. It is without a doubt that being a father was his greatest pride & joy. Robert was known to remind his sons every single day how proud of them he was, and lives as a testament of how big and deep his love was for both Justin and Damian. He will be deeply missed by both of his sons, as they continue to cherish their memories with him. 

Robert is survived by wife Anne Marie Smith, sons Justin (Erica Martell) Smith and Damian (Erin) Smith, Mother Joanne “Corky” Singer, brothers Donald Smith, Richard (Nilsa) Smith, and James Miller, cousins Michael McCormick and Christopher Streber, Mother-in-Law Mary Maddock and Father-in- law Donald Maddock, brother & sister-in-law Carl (Judy) Maddock and Michelle (Jason Durand) Maddock. Robert is also survived by 8 loving nieces and nephews whom will miss him dearly.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Jeffery Miller and his sister, Donna Smith. 

Friends may call on Monday (April 28th) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral home, 1075 Long Pond Road. Rochester, NY, 14626. Burial will be held for family only at the Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
