Richard T. Connolly Rochester: Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 103. Born on June 19, 1916, Dick grew up in Palatine Bridge, NY and Utica, NY. He graduated from Union College in 1937 and then worked at General Electric in Schenectady. Dick served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 until the end of the World War II in 1945. He returned to Schenectady, and married Margaret Mary Owens in 1949. They had three children and continued to live in Schenectady, where Dick was an advertising-space salesman for the Schenectady Gazette. Dick took a job as advertising-space salesman for the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle and the family moved to Rochester in 1960. Dick was at the Democrat from 1959 until his retirement in 1981. He was involved in various community activities, including coaching Little League baseball. He was fond of family and friends, sports, good clothes, and politics, and he always had a good joke to share. Richard Connolly is predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Owens) Connolly, and is survived by three children: Thomas Connolly (Helen F. Newman) of Houston, Patrick Connolly (Yoshiko Ukawa Connolly) of Buffalo, and Theresa Connolly (Ron Lindsay) of Anacortes, WA, as well as by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday (Nov 20th) 4-7 PM at Vay- Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (Nov 21st) 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296, Flower City Park. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
