Bought my first forge from Dick after a 35 year absence. He always had a tip on how to do different things and for that I am grateful. We shared a few sea stories from navy times and I can tell you Jocelyn, that he was very proud of you. He will be deeply missed.
Jocelyn, I’m sorry for your loss of your Dad. Know that he will be with you always in spirit and within your heart. I wish you and your family peace.
Our sincerest condolences to Vivian and family. Dick taught Don black smithing and continued to be a friend and mentor for as long as he was able. They worked together on a few big jobs. They also enjoyed occasional trips to Schwan’s for lunch. He will be greatly missed. Don and Mary Kieffer
Vivian, what a sad loss. We remember Dick well, as a kind, gentle, peaceful soul. And so you were a wonderful match! We wish you peace as you learn to live in a new way. Frank & Sue
To Vivian and the entire Rightmyer and Honan families, So sorry to hear about your loss. What a treasure Richard was! It was such a pleasure to show Dorine and Richard (in 2008) the boat that Uncle Paddy Honan made that had been donated to the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse when they visited us. Richard said that his father was the little boy in the picture with Paddy. I used both of these pictures on the cover of the book for the history of Charlotte because it portrayed both the nautical heritage of the area and joining of different generations of the Honan family! We are still hoping to preserve the Honan genealogy for generations to come. I would be happy to send you the photos if you contact me.
My condolence to the Rightmyer family. We were both in the NYSDB club for many years and I considered him a good friend.
