Vatter, Richard J. Greece: Saturday, May 6, 2017 at age 90. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Betty; brother, Joe; sister, Eleanor Horgan. Suruved by his daughter, Judy (Lee) Bruder; sister, Anne Goss of Mesa, Arizona; nieces, nephews; dear friends. Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served our country in WWII. He was the owner of Vatters Meat Market for over 30 years. He was a lifetime member if the VFW, a North Greece Volunteer Fireman, member of Knights of Columbus and a usher at Our Lady of Mercy for 50 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Richard;s visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10th 3-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 11th, 9:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Entombent, White HAven Memorial Park.     I remember Dick & Betty from the market on Denise Rd. What a happy/friendly person Dick was (Betty was more reserved), and you always looked forward to going in there not only for the fantastic meat they sold, but to visit with them. The world has lost a good one, that is for sure, but I am happy to see that he almost lived long enough to see his 91st! God bless Dick & Betty and their entire family.
