Rochester, NY: March 26, 2014 passed away after a long illness at age 89. He is predeceased by parents Vito and Adelina Piccarreto, wife Rita Piccarreto, sisters Cora Sorentino, Ninette Slaga, Marjorie Weining and Yola Consiglio. Survived by loving; children Rene Jr. (Patricia), Loren (Peggy), Donna Moses; Rene’ Tromblee (Robert) and Lorene Cutting (Christopher); 19 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren; many dear friends. He was born July 8, 1924 in Rochester, NY. Rene graduated from Madison High where he played football and was a Co-Captain his senior year. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and fought in the battle of Iwo Jima during WWII and was stationed as in Nagasaki Japan with the military police. In 1947 he married Rita Donahoe and raised a family. The family wishes to thank his special caregivers, LaTrice, Lelanie, Casey, Gina and Rebecca. Rene’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (April 5th) 10:00 AM in the chapel of Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Veteran’s Outreach Center or the Wounded Warrior Project in Rene’s memory. I was so happy to be able to reconnect with family and Uncle Rene was able to meet my children. We all loved him very much. My thought and prayers are with you. Miss everyone. Rest in peace uncle Rene.
