Phillip J. Lombardo

Born: Rochester, NY Resided: Greece, NY

Born: January 31,1948  Died: September 8, 2022

Suddenly on September 8, 2022, at age of 74 our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother passed away.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Renee Lombardo, his sister Carmel Lombardo Cullum and brother, Rene Lombardo, In-laws Jack and Betty Keegan.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sherryl, daughter Lori (Ross Groth), son Phillip J. Lombardo II, grandson Jack Ross Lombardo Groth, sister, Jeannette Dippel, brothers John (Diana) Lombardo and Raymond (Kim) Lombardo, brother-in-law John Keegan, sister-in-law Carol Malone and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phil graduated from Gates Chili High School in 1966 where he was a soccer and wrestling champion.  He loved to ride and shine his 1988 Harley motorcycle, and his Dodge Ram truck which gave him great pride. His very green golf course-like lawn was his hobby, and he was often told how beautiful it was.  Phil and his son, Phil loved to go hunting together. Phil retired from Wegmans Distribution Center and was a Union Representative there.  Phil was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. If you had a problem or needed help with anything he was always ready to lend a hand or advise how to handle a problem.

The center of our universe passed into the hands of the Lord. Our hearts are broken but we will all meet once again in heaven.

The funeral and burial will be a private ceremony.

Uncle Phil was truly an amazing man. He was a great father, brother, husband, papa, and uncle. He always made me smile when I talked to him. He had the best stories and advice. I know his legacy will live on through generations. Goodbyes aren’t forever or the end, they are simply I’ll miss you until we meet again.

My big brother Phil, although we were a thousand miles apart and many years I always remember your wonderful life lessons you taught me that I in turn taught my children and grands, your patented cobra strike and pressure points will live on after I’m gone. I love you my brother and I will miss you,it’s hard to imagine a solid fixture in our family is gone. Rest in God’s perpetual light

Rest in peace Gator! Phil was a great neighbor and a great man. I’ve known him since we moved into the neighborhood in 1975, I think I 4 years old at the time. As younger Phil, Lori and I grew older into high school it wasn’t uncommon for Big Phil to give rides home from school in that huge gator truck he built. We had great conversations and I definitely learned a few things from that wise man. God bless and prayers to the Lombardo family in this difficult time.

Hi my name is Bart Hopkins. I worked with Phil for many years. What I remember most about Phil was his smile. He was always in a good mood. He was always in the middle of whatever was going on If you needed something all you had to do is ask and Phil would make it happen. RIP Phil
