Peter A. Tuffo, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2026, at the age of 79.  Born on May 9, 1947, in Rochester, NY was the beloved son of the late August and Gaetana (Ida) Tuffo.

Peter’s life was a testament to dedication, love, and service.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1969 during the Vietnam War, a period that highlighted his courage and commitment.  Following his military service, Peter discovered his passion for building, where he became renowned for his elite craftsmanship in custom home building, restaurants, churches and furniture design.  His work was celebrated with numerous awards, a testament to his skill and artistry.

On July 8, 1967, Peter married the love of his life, Sharon D. Cobb in their hometown of Rochester, NY. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and laughter for 58 years.  Peter and Sharon raised four devoted children: Lisa R. Fuino, Peter J. Tuffo, Jaime S. Tuffo, and Danielle M. Tuffo-Pace. His legacy continues through his nine treasured grandchildren: Tara Fuino, Joseph Fuino, Lauren Tuffo, John M. Fuino, Jr., Anthony (AJ) Tuffo, Dayna Fuino, Gabriella Tuffo, Nicholas Tuffo, and Tytan Tuffo-Stroupe.

Peter’s life was rich not only in career and family but also in the simple joys he cherished.  He was a talented musician and artist, whose creativity was as boundless as his love for his family.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who relished time spent playing cards and Yahtzee with his loved ones. His passion for sports extended to coaching, where he shared his love and knowledge of football and basketball, inspiring young athletes with his guidance.

Those who knew Peter will fondly remember his generosity, kindness, wit and humor. He touched the lives of many with his warmth and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends may call Friday (July 10th) 4-7 PM  at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (July 11th) at 10:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., Rochester, NY 14612.

Celebration of life will follow, at Barnard Exempts Restaurant & Party House, 360 Maiden Lane, Rochester, NY 14616.  Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of a life well-lived.

Peter will be truly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.  As his family beautifully expresses, “He will be truly missed but will be forever in our hearts.” May he rest in peace, surrounded by eternal love and light.
