Patrick was born in 1935 on Saxton Street in Rochester NY. Growing up, he developed a strong bond to his sister Louise remaining close through life until her death in 2012. He attended #17 School receiving the Standard Bearer medal in seventh grade. He started working at the early age of twelve, a difficult experience forming a strong work ethic, resilience and independence. He had several beloved pet dogs. He graduated from Madison High School in 1953. At 18 he purchased a 1947 Plymouth, the first of thirty cars he’d own over his lifetime. As a teen, he spent summers painting houses, then after graduation started at Genesee Painting Company alongside his brother & brothers-in-law working as a Foreman, Superintendent & Estimator for twenty years.

Pat met Vella Iacobelli in March 1957 at the Garden Grill. They were engaged in July and married in November of that year. He served in the 98th Division, Seneca Mohawk Battalion starting rank as a P1, honorably discharged as an E7, serving as a Loader, Radio Communicator & Tank Commander. In 1959 they bought their first home on Raines Park in Rochester where they welcomed their children Stephanie & Martin. In 1964 they built their forever home on Latta Road in Greece. Over the decades, they’d join their parents, siblings, nieces, nephews & cousins for traditional Sunday dinners sharing Italian home cooking, stories, music and laughter.

In 1972 Pat & Vella established their business Patrick M. Bianchi Inc. with Pat as CEO, Vella as Business Administrator who job-shared with her sister Rose Guarino and in 1985 son Martin joined as Field Manager/Estimator. The Union-based general painting contractor company provided full-spectrum skills in interior/exterior painting, wallcovering, and wood finishing. Over 26 years, they completed many projects for a variety of commercial customers and general contractors, were acknowledged for craftsmanship awards and developed close affiliation with the Landmark Society of Western NY where Patrick provided technique master classes. The company completed historical preservation restoration work on the George Eastman, Stone Tolan and Ontario Court Houses and Canandaigua City Hall. Pat was a 40-year PDCA (Painting & Decorating Contractors of America) member. Pat & Vella retired in 1998. Pat proudly served as a 25-year Greece Rotarian and received the Paul Harris Service Award in 1982. He was a 10-year member at Ridgemont Country Club.

Both of their children and grandchild Matthew graduated from and met their spouses at St. Bonaventure University. In 1987, Pat & Vella purchased their Canandaigua Lake townhome where they enjoyed weekend escapes to fish, boat, swim and host family picnics. They welcomed three grandchildren in the Nineties and enjoyed attending their sports and drama extracurriculars. Pat provided his grandson’s Cub Scout troop Fishing & Whittling tutorials and provided painting/construction skills-training for his grandson’s Eagle Scout project.

Pat & Vella enjoyed a 20-year retirement highlighted by traveling to many collectables conventions including PA Train, FL Fish & Lure, Midwest Antique Watch and NYC Knife shows making many friends across the country along the way. He belonged to several Collectors Clubs/Associations including NFLCC (National Fishing Lure), FATC (FL Antique Tackle), ORCA (Old Reel), TCA (Train Collectors), TTOS (Toy Train Operators Society) and ESACA (Empire State Arms Collectors.)

He enjoyed watching nature shows, drawing, sudoku, astronomy books, classical music and playing the mandolin. He was a parishioner of Our Mother of Sorrows Church. After Vella’s passing, his final years were spent living with his daughter and son-in-law in Port St. Lucie FL. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.

What a beautiful, detailed, loving tribute his obituary is . I remember many times together even as early a very young child swimming in a small inflatable pool in his backyard on Raines park . I fondly remember years later bringing my 2 daughters to visit when they were just toddlers. Years later having a lovely steak dinner at their beautiful lake home in Canandaigua. We went out on his fishing boat for a fun ride . Many more memories along life’s path . I can still hear his gentle voice and warm laugh . He will be greatly missed . God Bless you Uncle Pat ,Leslie

Mr Bianchi always welcomed Stephanie’s friends into their home, told stories and made us feel part of the family. He deeply loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was so proud of them. May he rest in peace reunited with his beloved Vella.
