Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute

Patricia J. Bardwell, 70, of Spencerport, NY passed away on September 26, 2022, after complications from surgery.  Pat was born on January 21, 1952 to Edythe and William Owens in Rochester, NY.  After graduating from Arcadia High School in 1969, she attended Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY. Upon graduating with a secretarial degree, she started her first job at Eastman Kodak as a secretary.   While at Kodak, Pat met her husband, Dick Bardwell.  They were married in 1971 and went on to raise three children.

She is predeceased by her parents Edythe and William Owens. She is survived by her loving husband, Dick; daughter, Michele Bardwell Brooks (Mark Brooks) of Ridgefield, CT; son, Dr. Kevin Bardwell (Jennifer Long) of Portland, ME; son, Rick Bardwell (Kim Gore) of Irondequoit, NY; and grandchildren, Jack Brooks, Gabrielle Bardwell, Riley Bardwell, and Addison Bardwell.

Pat loved spending time with her beloved family, including trips to visit her children and grandchildren in Connecticut and Maine as well as spending time with her local son and granddaughter in Irondequoit.  She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, a highlight being a memorable trip to Arizona where she coaxed Dick onto a hot air balloon ride.  Her most recent trip was to the Outer Banks earlier this year, where she and Dick enjoyed the beaches and the wonderful seafood.  One of her favorite places was her tranquil cottage at Chaumont Bay.  She spent much time there as a young girl at her parent’s cottage and then later at her own place with Dick.  Pat surprised her children with a Border Terrier puppy when they were young and this grew into a family love affair with this scruffy, little terrier breed.  All three children went on to raise their own Borders and Pat spoiled them all. Most recently, she enjoyed spoiling Rosie, a mixed breed rescue dog, who lives with Rick and Addison.  Other favorite pastimes for Pat included a rousing game of Euchre, UNO with her grandchildren, Solitaire on her iPad, and beating Dick at TV Jeopardy, which they watched nightly. She never lost, but this was sometimes contested by Dick!

Pat’s visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 1-4 PM at VAY-SCHLEICH & MEESON 1075 Long Pond Road, where her funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM. Private interment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, in Pat’s memory. For more information and to sign her online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

Dear Dick, You and your children are experiencing such depths of grief at the loss of Pat. That depth is equal to the enduring love that you have for one another. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. The fond memories I have of the two of you together are so few compared with the lifetime of memories that you experienced and cherished with each other. May they bring you consolation and peace. Love, Beverly (Michalak) Slichta-Cusick, classmate, Cardinal MIndszenty High School, 1962

Sorry to hear about Pat. She was my aide at Munn School for many years. She made my job so much easier by doing all the clerical work for our team. I will be out of town and will not be able to attend her service. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Donna Randazzo

My condolences to all of her family. I worked with Pat at Wm. Munn School. I would cover the greeters desk when she was unavailable. We had great conversations and we we’re there for each other in good times and bad. She was my personal trip advisor. All the lovely fun places my hubby and I visited in N.Y. , Niagara on the Lake and especially Maine was from here expert advise. Rest in peace Pat. Now we all have another Guardian Angel watching over us.
