On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, Owen Nathaniel Heidt passed away tragically at the age of 15. Owen is survived by his loving parents, Garrett and Leia (DeVivi) Heidt and his sister Maya Heidt, Grandparents Paige (Riley) Heidt, Dawnn (Dorr) O’Neill, Jeanette (Henderson) Knopp, Peter (David) DeVivi, Andrea (Widell) DeVivi, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Owen was predeceased by his Grandfather Bernard (Skip) Heidt, and his uncle David DeVivi. The world lost the brightest light and the very happiest of boys. Owen was the most beautiful child. He was the baby with the most joyful and infectious giggle, the kind of kid that strangers would always smile at and compliment his parents. As Owen grew, his family learned that he was severely autistic, but that changed nothing for his family. Nothing. They simply met him where he was and helped him to grow from there. And not only did he grow-he thrived. He overcame so much and amazed his family daily with his progress and his silly charismatic nature. Owen was such a happy goofball of a kid and so very cherished by everyone he met. Every teacher, therapist, bus driver, monitor, classroom aide, and support professional who was lucky enough to know him loved him. Every single one. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and most especially a Daddy’s boy. Owen loved Disneyworld more than anything else in his world, and his family had daily countdowns to get him excited. They scrimped and saved all year to make Disney happen annually because he loved it so very much. His family was so very happy together. Lots of singing, dancing, laughing and goofiness. His happy knee dance will never be forgotten, or his somersaults that shook the floor when his body became the size of a man. Owen was loved by all who knew him and will be in their hearts always. Owen, there will never be a single moment in the lives of anyone who knew and loved you where you are not in their thoughts. Our love for you knows no bounds and you will be cherished always.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family’s gofundme. There may be a celebration of life at a later time at the family’s discretion.
With deepest condolences!!

So very very sorry for your loss.
My heart hurts for you and your family… Life can be so cruel and unfair at times. I hope that, in time, the weight of this loss will ease, and that the love and joy he brought into your lives will bring you comfort and strength.
The loss of a child. There are no possible words. All I can offer is my prayer for your broken hearts..
Owen was the sweetest, most magical boy. Watching him grow was an absolute joy to everyone who got to know him. Our family offers our deepest sympathy to your family.
The Greece Special Education Department sends our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Heidt Family. Owen was a sweet boy who had a smile that lit up every room that he walked into. He taught all of us so much and though not enough time, we will forever be grateful for all of the years spent getting to know Owen and watching him flourish 💗
