Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute

Michael R. Sullivan Greece: Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at age 60.

Mike was predeceased by his father Robert Sullivan and his brother Brian Sullivan. He is survived by his loving family, mother, Monica; wife, Karen Sullivan; son, Jake (Lynn) Scott; brother, Mark (Erin) Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Carol Sullivan and JoAnn (Red) Armstrong; nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Sean, Victoria and Patrick; His littlest friend Olivia Palermo and many close friends.

Mike was an avid football and baseball fan he also enjoyed watching tennis and basketball. His favorite teams were the Yankees and the buffalo bills. His favorite pastime was fishing on his boat and doing yard work. He enjoyed a good Genny and he absolutely loved a stiff Manhattan, if you were lucky enough for him to make you one you know exactly how strong they were. He enjoyed cooking and made banana bread almost every Sunday.

Mike loved nothing more than spending quality time with his wife and son and he thoroughly enjoyed his job as a machinist. According to Mike everything had a place, and he is the one that knew exactly where that place was.

Mike will be missed greatly not only by his family but by every person that had the joy of knowing him.

In memory of Mike live life to the fullest, grab a Genny or whip up a Manhattan and cheer on the  Buffalo Bills!!!!

Michael’s celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association in his memory.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

Don’t even know where to start. I’m devastated. I’ve know Mike for over 40 years. High School, College and beyond. He was one of the best friends you could have. Always had a smile on his face. He was the life of a party and a true rock star. They don’t come any better. Mike loved life and lived it to the fullest. We had the best of times together with life long memories that will never be forgotten. Love you bro. Our condolences go out to the Sullivan family. Love Always, Doug & Karen Cappon

Karen, I am so very sorry for your loss! I have known Mike since the late 80’s when I started working at Kodak B514. Then again at Arnprior and Kingsbury! He was a hell of a machinist and an even better friend. I am going to miss going to car shows with him and bustin his chops about getting the Vette roadworthy again. May you find peace and comfort during this trying time! Steve Hartter

Think of the two or three men you most respect, trust, can rely on, enjoy being with, whose generosity and support you have received countless times, and I bet one of them is Mike Sullivan. Mike is truly one of the ‘good guys’ in this world. He will be greatly missed. I met Mike at Thanksgiving 1981 when his older brother Brian brought me home to meet his family. After Brian and I were married and had children, Uncle Mike was always present at birthdays and life events, and he was with us for nearly every Christmas except the last two. Mike helped me care for Brian in his last weeks before he died from the bone marrow cancer that Mike himself unbelievably developed two years ago. Mike provided emotional and other support to me and the kids, driving Sean to college, and representing the Sullivans at Victoria’s wedding. We thank God for a brother, uncle and friend like you, Mike. Carol Sullivan

Dear Karen & Sullivan family – I had the privilege of being Mike’s friend during the Bills great Super Bowl run of the early 90’s. Together with a great group of guys Sully, Sam, Bill, Tom and many others who joined us over those years – we became a Sunday afternoon family. We shared many laughs, just a few beers and the joy of being together while our favorite team was dominating. I will never forget Mike’s smile, joking ways, venison strips and his obvious love of life. May God bless you on your continued journey and may He take care of those you’ve left behind whose hearts are aching. RIP Sully. John Caloritis

My condolences to Karen and Mikes family. As John said we spent many Sundays in Orchard Park watching the Bills. Mike’s big green Chrysler that we partied in, the funnel, beers in the hood, and a Rolling Stones concert just a few years ago come to mind. I have a lot of memories of Mike and the gang that I will cherish forever. Last nite I was one of the lucky ones to go to the playoff game. I said a prayer for Mike, called my brother Sam, chugged a beer as fast I could (no funnel available) and yelled Go Bills. Rest In Peace Mike….

I’ll always remember the fun we had together both at work and the Glen. I’ll sorely miss those days.

Karen, Jake and the Sullivan family. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, please accept my most heartfelt condolences. I worked with Mike at Kodak years ago and fished with he and a young Jake during that time. Mike was always a great guy and we all know he will be missed by all who knew him.

Karen and Jake, Very Sorry for our loss. Mike and I have been life-long friends since college. After college I moved to Rochester, Sullivan’s made me feel like part of the family. Over the years we skied, Vermont, Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho and California. Mike was a great mechanic, he used to tease me how WE (he) can work on my car. One day I asked him to look at a car for me, I passed on it and Mike bought that Vette. He was like a brother to me, always there to help and with good advise. I will the miss cookouts and dinners at the house. Mike recently said to me “we had more fun than anybody”. I will miss my dear friend for the rest of my life.

When someone comes into your life when you’re 17, you get to make a lot of memories…when he gave me his class ring to wear, when he gave me a used 8-track player for Xmas because he couldn’t afford a new one – and then stayed up all night to record from my albums while I slept…or the conversation we had on a drive out to Hamlin for a picnic and how we both thought speedos were gross – and when we all decided to go for a swim and one of our friends was wearing one…we exchanged a look and could barely contain ourselves. We all know that "look" – a bit of mischief or the promise of shenanigans to ensue. Tuesday night pizzas with anchovies because neither knew anyone else that liked them. The classic when his mom told me "I’ll let him tell you" when I went to pick him up to take him to work at Western Auto and he wasn’t there – the result of a bit of a tussle with law enforcement. Going out with friends to a polar bear swim and him saying the whole way there why would anyone do that…and upon arrival stripped on the street ("here, hold my pants") and put on his suit – and off he went. Or asking me to go to Sibley’s with him to get a birthday gift for his mom "one of those half-a-dress-things." Getting a call in the wee hours from the bartender at the BrewHouse to come get his vette. Michael and I shared so much over 20+ years. He was one of a select few that called me "Kath." The party started when he tapped the keg (early of course), his nicknames for people – and how he was so careful and gentle with Gabby – the family mini poodle. The can’t-mistake-Genny-can-opening-sound for breakfast at a weekend music fest. His tears when Brian was dying. Michael felt deeply, laughed heartily. I knew I could always count on him – he gave testimony for me to get my first marriage annulled…he knew me best. One of our last conversations we agreed that we wouldn’t always be in each other’s lives but we’d always be in each other’s heart. Michael was a gift in my life, one I will always treasure. My heart goes out to his mom, and especially to his wife – when he started dating you I knew you were special to him already and he was happy. Rest in peace Michael. You are in our hearts.

Karen and Jake, I can’t even imagine the heartbreak your going through at this moment. The loss of a “Light “ like Mike can never be replaced only mourned. I hope that you will call me if I can help you both in any way. I will miss him like a brother and pray for your hearts to heal. Love to you both!

So sorry for your loss Karen and Jake. Mike was one of a kind and always someone you wanted to be around. His huge smile and loud laugh was infectious. He lived life to the fullest and you always knew when you got together it was going to be a great time, a little unpredictable in a good way and always resulting in you laughing uncontrollably until it hurt. Thank you Mike for your friendship and all the love, fun and laughter you brought to all our lives. Your stories will live on forever. A manhattan toast will be on order for tonight.

We are very sorry to hear the news of Mike’s passing. He was a good guy; a kind brother-in-law to Carol and caring uncle to our shared niece and nephew, Sean and Victoria; and always warm, friendly and easy to have a conversation with whenever we were together. Our condolences to you and your son, Karen, and to all the Sullivans.

Karen, Jake and the Sullivan family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to know Mike and have him as a friend. I met Mike in the early 80’s while working at Kodak. Throughout the years we played softball together, went to the Glen, opening day Redwing games/parties, Black Lake ice fishing and the many many Bills games and tailgating, the list goes on. Mike was so much fun to be around and always put a smile on your face. As others have said, he lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. It was an honor to know him. RIP Mike……….

The news of Mike passing is hard to understand. I met Mike my first day at Morrisville College and he has been a big part of my heart ever since. Although I had not seen Mike in too many years, I thought of him often. He was and still is special to me. Along with Doug and Chris, many memories were made at Morrisville and beyond. Rest in peace Mike, until we meet again, Love you…. My deepest condolences to the entire Sullivan family.
