Michael (Brinx or Mike) Brinkman was 58 years old when he passed away from
complications from a stroke he suffered the previous October. He is survived by his wife
of 30 years Michelle (Jensen) Brinkman, his son Robert Brinkman, his mother
Karen(Boyko) Link and his aunt Linda (Boyko) Cianciola. He was predeceased by his
father Robert J. Brinkman, his uncle John Cianciola and his step father Gordon Link.
During Mike’s long and diverse public service career, he volunteered as a firefighter at

He worked as EMT and dispatcher for National Ambulance. He worked as a
telecommunicator, dispatcher and supervisor at Emergency Communications
Department (911). He assisted with teaching lab skills to EMT students at the Public
Safety Training Facility. At the time of his stroke, he was a firefighter with the Greater

Mike enjoyed making scale car models and watching vintage movies and television
shows with his wife and son. He enjoyed telling jokes and talking with people. He had
many friends and cherished his friendship with each of them. He will be deeply missed
by so many people.
Mike long ago expressed his wish that instead of flowers, donations to the Humane Society
or Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions be made to honor his memory.

Michelle; sympathies to you and your entire family on Mike’s passing. He was a welcome sight at any North Greece event and I know Lake Shore and the Airport felt the same. He was a great guy and will be missed. Tom Piazza. NGFD.

Mike – I am very saddened by both your stroke then your passing. You were always a great friend and so much fun was had when you were around. To Michelle and family – know that you have gained a ton of brothers and sisters to help you with whatever the matter is. We will always be there for you. Mike – Watch over us from above and I know you will let us know when you see something in your own silly, humorous way. I am sure you are happier in heaven and would have been very frustrated by the turn of events after the stroke. I can still hear your laugh thou….. Missing you…..

We had so many laugh’s together sitting on the fireside. Knowing we were working together on any given night not only did I look forward to the laugh’s but I knew I had a great partner in the event anything happened. You will be so missed my Brother…..

Michelle and family. So sorry to hear of Brinks passing. He could light up a room with his smile and sense of humor!! We all knew he always had our backs and always knew just what to say at the right time! Fly high sweet man! Though I haven’t been in touch since the last NA02 picnic, once you wear the green pants the bond can never be broken. Rest in Peace my friend.

Friend, Brother – The profound sadness in my heart is overwhelming. 44+ years of brotherhood will remain with me for the rest of my days. I will always remember the days at North Greece FD and Lake Shore FD. I remember the day you became interested in the fire service. That live burn on Long Pond Rd where the Greece Historical Society now sits. Our Explorer post years at North Greece. M.C.C. in JT Mahar’s class and our careers in the fire service.
Michelle, Robert – Husband, Father. Mike was great man and will be sourly missed.
My brother, Chief, rest in knowing you were loved and respected. Till we meet again.

    Deputy Chief Michael R. Brinkman – KMG365
