Mary Elizabeth “Betty” passed peacefully on January 4, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born March 13, 1934 to the late Cornelius and Mary Burke, Betty was a gentle and caring woman to all who knew her.   Betty married her husband Carl in 1956 after meeting at their place of employment: Stromberg-Carlson.  Together, they welcomed three sons, and resided in Rochester, NY.  They had been married for 65 years when Carl passed in 2022.

Betty is survived by her sons: Leonard, Steven (Kris), and Lawrence (Cheryl); 7 grandchildren: Jennifer (Jesse) Graham, Jeffrey, Jonathan (Olivia), Corey, Brittany, Steven (Kaitlyn), and Sara; 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Betty was also predeceased by her sister Connie (Miotti).

Born and raised  in Oswego, NY, Betty later attended Rochester Business Institute.  She worked in the surveyors office for many years and later became a dedicated employee of BF Goodrich Tire Center.  After some time in retirement, Betty entered back into the working world at Rainbow (later Pathway) Pediatrics where she made dear friends.

Betty enjoyed the simple things in life.  She played on golf and bowling leagues and enjoyed spending time with “the girls”, but most of all, she loved visiting with her family and friends.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and proud great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed, and forever be in our hearts.

Friends may call Thursday (Jan 9th) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday (Jan 10th) 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of one’s choice in Betty’s memory.
