I knew Mickey from the first grade through high school. We were also Homecroft kids! He was one of the kindest classmates I knew. My condolences to all Mickey’s family. May you all find peace in loving memories of him.

I only got to know Mickey in the last 10 years or so through our weekly ‘safety’ sessions with current colleagues and other retirees. No doubt Mickey was one of the most popular and respected of them all. I’m told that anyone who worked with him or for him discovered a very helpful, knowledgeable, practical and fair-minded co-worker plus having spent most of his career on field assignments in a great variety of locations, he had the most entertaining stories.
From what I could see, he was also a man who enjoyed life to the fullest, a true ‘bon vivant’.
Of all my American friends, I always felt he understood my background the best since his travels included extended visits to Labrador, Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. I could tell by his open-minded reflections that he understood and appreciated the essence of the people in these places. I’m sure he made friends easily wherever he went. In fact, I declared Mickey (for what it’s worth) an honorary Canadian. That unofficial designation is not easily earned!!!
Anyway, I’ve lost a friend and I offer my deepest condolences to his family and to all of those who were closest to him.
    Ray

I am very sorry for the passing of a friend and gentleman. I got to know Mickey best with his buddy Benware at my Father’s and Jimmy Garcia’s hunting camp near St Regis Falls in the ADK mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed their annual visits. Laughs were plenty. Mickey was even there for the time ake of my second deer many years ago. My condolences to family and friends. Until we meet again on another hunting drive in another lifetime, my friend.

I’m very sorry for your loss. In these very difficult times, the Bible can bring us a measure of comfort, and the hope to see our loved ones again. I hope you find Isaiah 25:8 comforting- ‘He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.’
