Hi Mom, Today was spent preparing for your special day. Watching you cross over to the other side was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my entire life. I’ll never let you go and you will always be in my heart for ever! I know you are at peace now with no more anxeity or confussion, and that is what’s getting through this. There isn’t a minute of the day that goes by that I’m not thinking about you, I miss you so much. People think that when someone has Alzhiemer’s that person can’t think or communicate anymore, but I know different. Over the years I’ve learned that people living with this illness can communicate… it may not be verbal. They can also think… and the one thing I’m sure of is that they can feel. I learned alot from you mom right up to your very last day on earth. I am so glad that you are my mother and I can’t think of one thing that I would change in our 47 year relationship. You faught long and hard and now it’s time for you to rest, we will be together again someday. WITH All MY LOVE, Your Daughter Vicki

Hi Vicki – I got your little note yesterday, burst into tears for you, and thought of you all night. We know she and my mom are in a better place. It took me awhile to really KNOW that though. The emotions you feel are all ‘normal’ even though it may feel like you are going crazy. I have a great book that I’d like to share with you. I’ll e-mail you with it, or give you the title soon. It helped alot, butI didn’t read it right away. Keep the memories in your heart! You have them FOREVER. She’s with you all the time and that is truly comforting to know. You take good care and let’s talk soon. Thinking of YOU and your family and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Mom, As you were on your journey home and we sat by your bedside, we cried because we will miss you and we smiled because we were happy knowing you would be in a better place. You are loved so very very much. I miss the closeness we had and the times we shared before this illness took you, but you gave me so many great memories I will always hold close in my heart. Like you always said mom ‘so long for now’ Your loving Daughter Terry

Paul: I am so sorry for your loss.I’m glad that you brought Marie to the Lightheart group. Your tender, loving care of Marie was such an inspiration to me as I took care of my husband these past years. She was a lucky woman to have such a kind and loving husband as you were. Claudette

Terry: I just heard about your Mom. I am so sorry. You KNOW that I understand all you have gone through seeing how this ugly disease affects not only the person with it, but the entire family. Remember you Mom as she is now- she has her memories and health back and is herself again. I know that’s how I think of my Dad. They are catching up on everything they missed while they were fighting Alzheimer’s. Love to you.
