Marie Pettrone

Marie Pettrone Greece – April 16, 2022.  Marie was born August 27, 1939 and passed away on April 16, 2022. Her courageous strength showed throughout a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis and other health issues. Survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Frank; her children, Deacon Frank (Elizabeth) Pettrone, Tammy (Kevin) Michielsen, and Shaun (Katie) Pettrone; her grandchildren, Kimberly (Kelvin) Burgos Villar, and Bryan Michielsen. Marie met the love her life, Frank, while working as a cashier at a Star Market grocery store. She would happily recount with the biggest smile on her face the story of the handsome boy who caught her eye. Their first glance began a lifetime together of cherished memories. Marie and Frank became Lay Carmelites in the Third Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, on May 11, 2003. Marie is most remembered for her faith in God and unending dedication to her family. Marie enjoyed spending time in prayer, attending mass and prayer group meetings. Marie’s favorite place was home, surrounded by her family. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, making crafts and spending time in the kitchen baking. She especially enjoyed family gatherings where she could converse, laugh and hear of the events of her loved ones. Marie loved sweets and chocolate, which were readily available during every visit with her. There are no words to express how much she will be missed, although she will be with us in our hearts forever. The family sends a special thank you to the staff at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, for taking such compassionate care of Marie.
