Bruce, Margaret E., Ph.D. ’Peggy’ Greece: Friday, December 4, 2015 following a long battle with ovarian cancer. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel G. Bruce. Survived by her children, Peggy Burdick (Greg Beadle) and Kathy (Barry) Scorse; sister, Katherine J. Bortfeldt; nephews Paul (Sue) Bortfeldt of CO and Michael (Janet) Bortfeldt; grandchildren Tricia (Josh) Thatcher of GA, James Burdick, Kristy Baker and Sean Baker of CA; great-grandchildren Matthew Murray and Angelia Sanchez; step-grandchildren Brian Scorse, Jill (Chris) Benson and Brad Scorse, all of NC; nephew Dan (Carolyn) Bruce of NC; nieces Kathy (Robert) Burke of VA, Christy (Gerry) Bunting of VA, and Trish (Augustine) Miceli of MD; sisters-in-law Mary (John) Backer of MD and Harriet Wood of VA. Several additional great-nieces and nephews and extended family out of the area. Our heartfelt gratitude to Danielle Mannillo for all of her genuine and care and compassion. Peggy was a retired Audiologist and college English teacher who enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid bridge player. She was a longstanding member of AAUW in Rochester. Friends may call Wednesday (Dec 9th) 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Greece. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.
