Greece: On this day of our Lord, Wednesday, June 17th, 2020, heaven received a legendary and faithful saint, Manuel Medeiros Jr.  “He fought the good fight, He finished the race, He kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to him on that Day, and not to him only but also to all who have loved His (Christ’s) appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Manny is survived by his wife Carol Medeiros of 62 years; 4 children, Victoria Medeiros, Timothy Medeiros (Donna), Patrick Medeiros (Tina), Mary Ellen Siegler (Bill).  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Kristen Mendonca (Norbert), Kerrin Pestke (David), Eric Viger, Keith Viger, Joshua Medeiros, Tyler Viger (Kelly), Manuel J. Medeiros (Shannon), Calin Medeiros, Patrick C. Medeiros (Grace), Matthew Medeiros, Liam Siegler, Annabelle Siegler & Elijah Siegler; and 7 great grandchildren, Madilyne, Gemma, Samantha, Stella, Hunter, Nora, & Levi. Manny is also survived by 5 sisters, Dolores Bradley, Rosalee Alves, Elaine Lacombe, Julie Ann Carlesi & Joan Barcellos, and his brother Ricardo Medeiros. Manny is also survived by 25 nieces & nephews, all with families of their own with many more grands & greats. Manny is also predeceased by his parents Manuel Medeiros Sr. & Mary Medeiros, who started this wonderful family and received their son with open arms when he walked through the gates of Heaven. Although Manny will be deeply missed here on Earth, he will be remembered for his love for his family, his strength, his grace, his faith, his kindness, his generosity, his smile, his ability to make people laugh, his silly jokes, and most importantly, his love & personal relationship with His Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. He served our nation proudly in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a master mechanic and trouble shooter for Chrysler, and he eventually followed the Lord’s calling into pastoral ministry, pastoring the Living Word Christian Church for 20 years in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Most recently, he served at the Mission Share Outreach Center located in Greece, NY, where he was an inspiration to so many and loved by all who had the opportunity to meet him. Manny’s visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24th 3-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Memorial Service will be celebrated Thursday, June 25th 11:30 AM at Greece Assembly of God, 750 Long Pond Road.  Private Interment.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory, to the MISSION SHARE OUTREACH CENTER located at 10 Cedarfield Commons, Rochester, NY 14612. It was such an honor to been able to spend the last few years with papa. I always admired the way he talked I loved his accent and the joy he had when Tyler and I met him and grandma out to eat. Tyler and I will miss the random visits out to our house him and grandma made, It meant the world to us. I was glad he got to meet his newest great grandson. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a picture of him holding the baby one thing I will regret. I sure am going to miss that cute smile and face, and the jokes of course 😉 he never seized to make me laugh. I love you so much papa!!! You meant more than you know to me. Xoxo can’t wait to see you again.

I give my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the entire Medeiros family. I loved Manny dearly and will miss him. He was an inspiration to all who came in contact with him. Herb, my husband, and Manny became very good friends, enjoying their conversations at Mission Share and at our monthly Senior group. They are now together again and can continue on with their friendship and praising the LORD. Jan Lawrence
