Greece: March 9, 2009. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, died after a brief illness. Hansen, 83, was a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy Kings Point and Syracuse University. He worked for Home Insurance for many years as a chartered professional underwriter. He had a passion for Orangeman sports, long Sunday drives and baseball listened through static on the radio. He shared with his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen, daughters Karen Coyle of Churchville and Christine Hansen of Wilmington, Del., son, Lou of Norfolk, VA., and four grandchildren. Also enduring memories of his great humor and courage, and the crystal blue eyes of his daughters and grandchildren. ’Aw, c’mon.’ Friends may call Thursday 4-7PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. His Funeral Service will be held Friday 9:30AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at 2PM in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY. (Please meet family at main gate of cemetery).
