Irondequoit, NY: October 2, 2010 at age 80. Predeceased by parents, Raymond and Loretta Keable; brother Raymond Keable; brothers-in-law, Arthur Meyer & Victor Czebatol; beloved aunt, Florence ‘Auntie’ Groters. She is survived by her children, Candice Johnson, Robert Johnson, Karen (Donn) Selkowitz, William (Rita) Johnson & Sandra (Timothy) Gorie; grandchildren, Robert (Jacki), RP3 Matthew USN & Courtney Johnson, Alexis (Kevin) Cooper, Jourdan & Shayna Selkowitz, Joseph Civiletti, William Johnson, McKenzie & Devan Gorie; great grandchildren, Robert Jacob Johnson & Rayful Thomas Guest; sisters, Margaret Meyer of Turlock, CA, Arlene Czebatol of Viera, FL; brother, James (Carolyn) Keable of Plattsburgh, NY; 16 nieces and nephews; many friends. Lorraine’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff and companions of Visiting Nurse Service/Hospice and Highlands Living Center for their outstanding care and support. Family will receive friends prior to Lorraine’s Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, October 11th 9:30 ‘€œ 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park. Her Funeral Mass follow at 10:30 A.M. Interment held privately in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory. Lorraine’s children request that all who attend the funeral mass wear purple or a pastel color, in hope and support of a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
Candy, Rob, Karen, Bill and Sandy. I have so many fond memories of your Mom. I hope you find the comfort in knowing she is at peace. We will all miss her and remember all the great times we had with her. She was a very special lady and so proud of all of you. Candy, Robbie, Karen, Bill and Sandy, Our deepest sympathy to all of you at your time of loss. Your mom and I go back over 50 yrs and we had a lot of fun and laughs as you all grew up. You children were your mothers life. Over the years it was so nice to hear all the news about you and your family’s (and all the chex mix that was made at Christmas time) We all have wonderful memories of the times we all had together. Candy, Robbie, Karen, Billy and Sandy I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. We had so many wonderful times when your family lived across the street from us on Floral Drive. I will never forget some of the funny situations our mothers got got themselves into or tried to get out of…special memories that still make me smile. Blessings g

Dear cousins, my deepest condolences to you and your families. I have many fond memories of Aunt Lorraine, and I know she will be greatly missed by the many whose lives she touched. Dear Karen & Family, I am so sorry to hear of t he passing of your mother. What a beautiful picture that is of her!!! I know this has been a long, difficult journey with your Mom’s illness and hopefully you can feel a sense of peace, now that she is in a better place. Dear Sandy, My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this time. I know it is really hard to lose your mom; but always remember she will be in your heart forever. Your mom will be looking down and giving her strength, guidance, support and much love to you. Low Rain was very kind, friendly, wise and never had a hard time making me laugh! She made my road-trips from Rochester to Cleveland very fun and enjoyable. Low Rain gave me a lot of good advice and wise feedback on those trips. I crack up every time I think about the time your mom was teaching me and Junior how to properly slow dance, one of the nights before your wedding in her living room. I have to admit she had all the right moves and was even able to avoid my stupid feet. The dance lesson obviously followed one of Low Rain’s famous ‘Pigs in a Blanket’ feasts. I do so regret that distance has kept us from getting to know each other as adults. The memories I have of family gatherings and of your mother are very special to me. I will miss your Mom -just knowing she was there was comforting to me. I will chant that we meet again in another life. I just wanted to say that I will always remember aunt Lorraine’s great sense of humor and kind ways. When I was in high school i used to drive over to see her just to talk and sit and laugh with her, She understood what wild kids we all could be and would joke about anything. She loved her family though all the hardships and her family showed how much they will always love her .

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Losing your mom is so sad, but I know she is in God’s hands now and at peace. I am also sure that Lorraine, Dave, and Jane are dancing their way around and having a wonderful time together; they were such good friends.
