I am very sorry to learn of Larry’s passing. With him, I was a member of the Class of ’59, 10th Company, at the Naval Academy. I remember him well, as a friend, and we shared many classes and experiences together.

Larry and I were classmates at USNA and for two years were shipmates on the USS Murray (DDE 576) right after our graduation. I recall him as a fine leader of his assigned sailors and a warm and intelligent friend. I still have a ‘Cruise Book’ with some photos of him and would gladly scan and e-mail if the family wishes to have them. Warmly Dave Sears

I am saddened to hear of Larry’s death. I was a 10th company mate and 1959 classmate of Larry. We shared 4 years together and especially a Plebe year that bonded us all for years to come. May God provide you comfort and the gladness of memories Dennis Read
