Civilett, Julia E. Greece: Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother and friend Julia Rotunda Civilett was called to heaven on Friday, 1-22-16. She was the 2nd born child of six on 09-13-25 to Marcello and Edith Rotunda in Westfield, NY. She married the love of her life, Anthony Civilett, on 06-21-47 and shortly after moved to Rochester, NY where they raised their family. She excelled as a wife and mother but also worked for Columbia Bank, from where she retired. She and Anthony moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where she was a community volunteer and very active member of St. Lucie Catholic Church. Prior to her illness, Julia celebrated her 90th birthday with her family in the Outer Banks, NC. Memories were made that will be cherished forever. Julia quietly made a difference and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her 3 children, Dennis Civilett (Elaine), Janet Margulies (Michael Ballases), Maryellen Cox (Perry); grandchildren, Sandy Margulies, Joe Tubiolo, Amanda Margulies, Brandon Cox; brother, Richard Rotunda; many loving nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband Anthony; son-in-law David Margulies; grandson Jason Margulies; siblings, Marcello Rotunda, Gertrude Barber, Isabelle Belcher & Donald Rotunda. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 30, 2016 @ 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Road, Rochester, NY. To continue her celebration of life, a reception will follow at Ridgemont Country Club, 3717 W. Ridge Road. Her burial is planned in Fredonia, NY at a later date. I am so sorry for your loss and apologize for not being able to attend services.
We were privileged to have Julia and the Civilett family as neighbors for a number of years on Ransford Avenue. She was such a good friend to our Mother and was such a wonderful and caring person to the ‘kids’ on Ransford. She kept a watchful eye and was a nurturing soul to the neighborhood. She brought light and humor and guidance. We were sad when the family moved. We are sad at her passing but grateful for the gifts she has brought to so many.
