Greece: Monday, June 30, 2008. Predeceased by her husband, Bill Buckley; sister, Arlene Northrup. Survived by her sons, Lawrence (Jan) Buckley, Robert (Rene’) Buckley; daughter, Marcia Buckley (Mark Lembke); brother, Robert (Carol) Hinkelman; sisters, Doris Honan and Diane; grandchildren, Billy, Jacob, Brandon, Karl and Luke; special friend, Annette Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce loved life and spending time with family, friends, and her grandchildren at her lakefront home. Family and friends may call Wednesday 4-8 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 9:30 AM at St. Mark’s Church, Kuhn Rd.. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John’s Home, Comfort Care Unit, South 2 or the House Calls Program of the Jewish Home Foundation, 2021 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14618 in her memory.

Dear Marcia and Family, Thinking about your Mom always brings smiles and warm memories or fun times eating ice cream at Abbott’s, enjoying a wonderful evening by the lake, and those special trips to the wineries. I will always treasure the trips to Hosmer and others, sitting on the deck, sipping ‘something not to dry’, and knowing this was a special moment. She was always willing to be the designated driver and probably kept us all well in check, but we loved the adventure and the perfect surroundings and company of the moment. She was truly a person who, although not specifically trying, taught and shared a lot of her insights as to how wonderful life really is. She was so proud of all her kids, although did not always understand them, loved and cherished them every day. Mrs. B will always have a very special place in my heart, and I thank the good Lord and all of you for allowing me the privilege of getting to know her and spend some wonderful moments with her. I want to extend my deepest sympathies to Marcia And family. I too have many happy memories of life at the lake. I don’t know if they remember that my mom grew up with Joyce as my grandparents had a house on Cranberry Rd. Our mom’s even worker together in the 70’s on the greece welcome wagon. I remember the amazement I felt when i heard stores of their girlhood together. She was a wonderful, delightful lady who graciously opened her home to all. I remember the summer we graduated from high school, and the parties we had, the slumber parties with the thomas twins. Thanks for all the sweet memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.
I will miss you terribly Aunt Joyce but you are now happily reunited with Uncle Bill…Your suffering is over and ours just begins with missing you at parties, holidays, etc. You were always there for me especially after mom died and I’ll never forget it. Love you and miss you. Your Niece Karen
I worked Welcome Wagon with Joyce in the 80’s and lived near her in Greece. We always had a nice time together with the other Welcome Wagon ladies. I know her family will miss her upbeat attitude and smile. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

Where do I begin? Throughout the years you were always an inspiration. I know you are in a better place now with Great Grandpa, Great Grandma, Grandpa and your husband. We will miss you deeply. For your family I hope that their pain and suffering will pass quickly because I know you would want them to cherish the memories you have given them. A couple of memories that I will hold close to my heart are, your smile that always warmed my heart, Easter at your house with you and Great Grandma. Your dedication to your family especially your mother. I regret not being able to be there to say goodbye but I know you would understand, you always did. With LOVE the Kossick family.
