Joyce A. Fike

Greece: Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at age 81.  Predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Olson and her husband, Bruce Fike.  Survived by her children, Jeffrey and Jennifer Fike; stepchildren, Greg Fike, Avor Szostak, and Cheryl Fike; son-in-law, Brian Sanchez, daughter-in-law, Christine Fike; grandchildren, Maxwell Sanchez, Jake Fike, and Samantha Fike; and her sister, Olivia Olson.  Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where her father worked on the Manhattan Project.  She graduated from high school with highest honors.  She excelled at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1966.  She was a lifetime member of Alpha Delta Pi and held several offices.  She received a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina in 1968.  She worked at Kodak from 1968 to 2003 starting as a researcher in the Physics division working on digital image processing and retiring as a research supervisor in the Commercial and Government Systems division.  She was a longtime active member of St. John the Evangelist church and the Circle of Hope guild.  She loved reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and working in the garden. 

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (Nov 29th) 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Greece. Her burial will be held privately in Rome Cemetery, Rome, NY.
