Greece: passed away on June 10, 2013 peacefully in his sleep. Scoopy is survived by his mother, Mary A. Heilman; his neice, Amy (Chris) Price; three great-nephews; as well as several cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph O. Heilman; and his sister, Judy (Heilman) Katrana. Scoopy was born in Rochester, New York on May 12, 1950. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). After serving in the Armed Forces, Scoopy went on to work in various industries but he is probably most known for the bar he owned and operated, ‘Scoop’s’ on Lyell Ave. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends. He was also a devoted son who spent the last few years of his life caring for his ailing mother. The family of Scoopy wishes to thank the Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit as well as all of the friends who have given so much support at this time. Scoopy’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 15th, at 11AM at St. Marks Church 54 Kuhn Road. A reception at St. Mark’s will follow Mass. Interment will be held privately in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

    SCOOP–YOU WERE A GREAT NEIGHBOR FOR OVER 25 YEARS IN MARLANDS SHORE. I SAW YOU IN WEGMANS TWO MONTHS AGO AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN SAY YOU WERE SICK. GOD BLESS YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES WE ALL HAD.
