Rochester, New York: passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at age 63. Joseph, fondly known as Joe, was born to George and Madelyn Quirk, on May 20, 1961, in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Greece Arcadia High School where he was on the football and wrestling team and played trumpet in the band.  He went on to receive both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Packaging Science and Business Systems Management.  He had an illustrious career as a Quality Manager, working for many years at Xerox, MacMillan Bloedel, Field Container, American Packaging, OrthoClinical Diagnostics and Consolidated Container Company.  While working, he also proudly served as a member of the Greece Central School District’s Board of Education from 2011-2014. He thoroughly enjoyed his time volunteering as a Board Member and giving back to his community.  He was a lover of all things music and had a deep fan commitment to the Minnesota Vikings. He was also an active member of his Church and loved to sing in the choir. Those who knew him will remember him for his gregarious nature and easy humor.  Joe’s loving spirit is carried on by his two daughters, Katherine (Jessie) Ballard, and Kristen Quirk; and his sister, Rosemarie (Roy) Mattke. Preceding him in peace were his parents, George and Madelyn, and his sister, Sally. The family will be celebrating his life privately.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to either of these two organizations that made significant positive impacts on his life: Catholic Family Charities or Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Greece, NY.

Joe was a great guy. Nobody didn’t love Joe Quirk. He was a true friend since wrestling at Britton Road JHS. Joe loved music and big cars. I guess I’ll never be able to surprise him with that two-toned Eldorado. The brightest spot in his life was his two daughters, he was so proud of them. I’m sure wherever he is he is entertaining everyone with a spirited rendition of New York, New York. Rest in Peace old buddy.
